10+ Books My Upper Elementary Girls Have Recently Read

I know how helpful it is have a list of books to pull from for your kids so I thought I’d share a few my ten year old girls have read (or listened to) within the last six months. They truly have enjoyed all the books on this list, but I asked them to narrow down their favorites and they said (not surprisingly) The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Viking Quest, and Wingfeather. They may not realize this yet, but I love that what every single one of those series have in common is that they’re laced with layers of symbolism.

Also, please keep in mind that these books are ones we feel comfortable with our kids reading, but recognize some on this list may not be for everyone so for sure do your own research.

In addition to these books, the girls have also read a bunch of harder to find books from The Good and The Beautiful’s original library…Calico, Cherokee Run, Jane and Henry Book 1 & 2, Jeanne-Marie and Her Golden Bird, Ponies For A King, Prairie Dog Town, Redwood Pioneer, Tino and the Typhoon, and Zeke & The Fisher-Cat. Unfortunately, most of these books are no longer available, but I know some of you may have these titles and, if not, you can search used books and homeschool sites. I’ve even seen a few of them pop up on Amazon used books! We love all the new materials releasing from The Good and The Beautiful though and I’d still recommend anything from their book shop.

If you have any books your upper elementary kids are loving right now, I’d love to know!
