2024 Holiday Gift Guide for The Homeschool Family

‘Tis the season for giving and this year I’ve rounded up five gift categories for the homeschool family: Game Schooling, In The School Room, For Mrs. Mom, Stocking Stuffers, and Read-Aloud Books + Activities. You can shop each category at length in my Amazon Storefront, but today on my blog I’m just sharing about my top 3 in each category.

Game Schooling

We are not big game schoolers, but we do have a few favorites. Some games out there are hard for me to get through, but these three are ones I really enjoy playing with my kids.

  1. Sleeping Queens & Sleeping Queens 2 Hands down, these two games are THE most played games in our home.

  2. Clumsy Thief A friend gifted us this game this year and it’s been one of my 1st/2nd graders favorites!

  3. Tenzi The girls used to play this in public school and so I gifted them this their first Christmas homeschooling and it’s been a favorite ever since.

Another one of my favorites is Cover Your Assets and you can shop a bunch more of our educational favorites here.

In the School Room

Let’s be honest I am just as excited about some of these items as my kids are. Our favorites are almost always books (the entire Piggie and Gerald Collection and Classic Fairy Tales are two that are well loved over here), but our non-book favorites are:

  1. Globe This is just one of those homeschool room staples and I love how this one has the constellations on it too.

  2. Snap Circuits All my kids absolutely love these!

  3. Life Cycle Figurines I gifted these a few years ago to my kids and they were super excited about them - we’re definitely a homeschool family, huh?

We also got the Osmo set when my youngest were in early elementary and it’s still going strong with my younger boys now.

For Mrs. Mom

I wish I’d found all of these earlier in my homeschool days. They’re classic favorites and ones I love to share with other homeschool moms.

  1. Teaching from Rest This is my #1 recommended book for any new or seasoned homeschooler.

  2. Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones It does get a little loud being home all day with my favorite people…my husband gifted these to me a few years ago and it was one of those gifts I didn’t realize how much I needed and would end up loving!

  3. Personalized Book Stamp I got this exact one earlier this year and love it! Also a great gift to double as giving to one of your book-loving kids.

Stocking Stuffers

I’m not a huge fan of cheap stocking stuffers that just get thrown away so all of these ideas are things that are actually useful, but still small enough to fit inside a stocking.

  1. Plus Plus Builds These are always a hit with my kids and I love how they’re the perfect fit for stockings.

  2. Prisma Color Pencils If you’ve been around here for awhile you’ll know these are our favorite colored pencils because of their super soft tip.

  3. Pocket Microscope Isn’t this the cutest? Each of my kids have one of these and they work great!

Read-Aloud Books + Activities

It helps so much to keep my kid’s hands busy during our family read-alouds. We just finished reading A Place To Hang The Moon and we LOVED it. Now, we’re reading Vanderbeekers and the top items my kids are enjoying are:

  1. Clay Snowman Kits Using air dry clay is perfect for read-alouds and this has been a HUGE hit over here this year.

  2. Bold & Easy Coloring Books (with these markers) Lots of you know we’re obsessed with these coloring books and markers this year. They’re addicting!

  3. Diamond Art Stickers These were the first diamond arts we ever did and now we’ve graduated to longer projects like these (which also make great gifts).

I hope this helped spark some ideas for you guys! If you’d like to see last year’s guide, be sure to check out: 2023 Holiday Gift Guide. It has over 100+ ideas!

Merry Christmas, friends!
